9 Days Kenya Safari

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu Game Reserve (approx. 6hrs drive)

0700hrs, pick up from your hotel and after safari briefing depart and drive further north to the Samburu game reserve arriving for lunch.
Later proceed on afternoon game drive till sunset.
Dinner and overnight at Sarova Shaba Lodge/Ashnil Samburu Camp on Full board basis

Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve

Spend the day in the Samburu Game Reserve with morning and afternoon game viewing drives.
Game viewing concentrates along the Ewaso Nyiro River which is the lifeline of this semi desert environment.
All meals and overnight at Sarova Shaba Lodge/Ashnil Samburu Camp on Full board basis

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve – Ol Pejeta Game Sanctuary (approx. 4.5hrs drive)

Go on a morning game drive returning to the camp for breakfast.
After breakfast depart for the cooler Mount Kenya and Laikipia region at the shadows of Ol Pejeta game sanctuary.
Afternoon game viewing drives including opportunities to see Rhino and Chimpanzee.
Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Camp on Full board basis

Day 4: Ol Pejeta – Lake Nakuru National Park (approx. 4hrs drive)

After breakfast check-out and proceed to the Lake Nakuru National Park. There shall be a stop to view the Thompson Falls at Nyahururu. The drive via farming country and homesteads via the Great Rift Valley escarpment edge is scenic. Afternoon bird watching and game viewing drive in the park.
The Lake Nakuru National Park is home to hundreds of bird species including a few flamingoes and other bird species. The lake also hosts the black and white rhino population in its sanctuary.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru

Full day in Nakuru with morning and afternoon game drives.
All meal and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge/Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge on Full board basis

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara ( approx. 5-6hrs drive)

Morning bird and game viewing drives. After breakfast proceed to the Masai Mara game reserves with stops at scenic points.
Afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp/Ashnil Mara Camp on Full board basis

Day 7 & 8: Days in Masai Mara

A very early morning game drive in the Masai Mara – the ideal time to see game as temperatures are cooler and hopefully lion, cheetah and leopard will be roaming the vast grasslands in search of prey. Return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning at leisure or partake in optional activities, a visit to Masai village to see their nomadic life this at extra cost. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive to get a closer look at the Mara and to look out for the 'Big 5'.
Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay Sarova Mara Game Camp/Ashnil Mara Camp on Full board basis

Optional Balloon safari (US$ 480 per person)
A well worth it and recommended activity in the Masai Mara National Reserve is the balloon safari early in the morning; you will be woken and driven to the departure site. Once in the air, the view of the surrounding landscape, the rising of the sun between the mountains and the congregation of the animals at the river is beautiful. This all concludes with a champagne breakfast and memories of a lifetime.

Day 9: Masai Mara – Nairobi (approx. 5-6hrs drive)

After breakfast, check-out and depart for Nairobi. Upon arrival you will be dropped at your Nairobi hotel.
